3D Projects: Past, Present, and Future
This is intended as an annotated catalogue of all the different models I've done, at least to the stage where I'm comfortable showing it. Much of my work is shown on various forums on the web as works-in-progress, but here are the major projects that have progressed to a reasonable stage. Many of the projects listed on this page do not currently have a good image or write-up; please bear with me as I update. Some of the aggregated threads that I update regularly can be found below, for those that don't want to wait for a proper gallery update, the curious that want to see what random projects are up at the moment, and the incorrigible tech obsessives that want random and occasionally thought-provoking discussion of science in SW. |

Executor-class Star Dreadnought
Winter 2002-Spring 2003 Current Status: Complete, released at Scifi3d My first-ever 3D model. Spent a lot of time on this one bashing my head against the then-totally unfamiliar 3D Studio Max interface. The mesh has since been revised somewhat, but remains a pretty inefficient and simplistic model. Still, it still holds up rather well at medium range, and there's always something about your first, isn't there?

TIE Defender MkN Spring-Summer 2003 Current Status: Complete
Death's Head, Imperator-class Star Destroyer
Fall 2003-Winter 2005 (Original and Revised Model) Current Status: Complete (version2), version1 released at Scifi3d The mesh that represented my first solid attempt at detailing with "real" greeble, rather than collections of simple boxes and primitives. Version 1, with quite a few inaccuracies and ineficiencies, was my second and last publicly released mesh. Last, due to some unfortunate instances of people using it without permission, notably in the Force Unleashed trailer. Version 2 is a generally much improved mesh with most of the bugs quashed.

Lambda-class shuttle (version1) Spring 2004-present Current Status: Incomplete, inactive
TIE Bomber (TIE/sa) Spring 2004-Summer 2010 Current Status: Complete Yes, it really took that long for me to get around to finishing it. Not quite up to my current standards, but it suffices for medium-distance shots.

Droideka (Destroyer Droid)
Spring 2004-present Current Status: Version 1 complete, in revision One of the most interesting and fun meshes I've ever made. Rigging and texturing it properly is a bit beyond my talents, so it's currently sitting around, waiting for full completion.

Turbolaser Turret
Spring 2004-present Current Status: Incomplete, inactive
TIE Interceptor (TIE/I) Spring 2005 Current Status: Complete
TIE Fighter (TIE/ln) Winter 2005 Current Status: Complete
TIE Advanced x1 (Vader's TIE) Summer 2006-Summer 2008 Current Status: Complete
All-Terrain Shock Enforcer (AT-SE) Walker Fall-Winter 2007 Current Status: Complete Thanks to Crix Dorius at SFM for the name. Animated and rigged, but still needs quite a bit of work. Therefore, I'll show stills only for now.

Bellator-class Star Battlecruiser Current Status: Complete First of the "cyclopean murderwedges," as someone at Stardestroyer.net named them (i.e., ships bigger than the common Star Destroyer). This one in particular is 7.2km long. The name is Latin for "warrior."
Procursator-class Light Star Destroyer Summer 2008 Current Status: Complete A little kitbash project to see how quickly I could turn out a destroyer with parts from the Bellator. Turned out into a tidy little War Emergency Programme-esque no-frills ship. Finished mostly over a weekend. The name is Latin for "skirmisher/forward-runner." 1.2km long.
Altor-class Imperial Fleet Support Ship Summer-Fall 2008, Fall 2010 Current Status: Complete An attempt at something not often seen: a fleet auxiliary. Quite large (>5km), designed for topping up ships as big as an Executor, or squadrons of smaller vessels. The mesh is currently on the upgrade to-do list, so expect to see a real gallery and a final mesh at some point. Some ortho shots of an early version this mesh in its current state can be seen in the Bellator Gallery. Update: Gallery added

Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer Fall-Winter 2008 Current Status: Complete 2.2km long. A heavy fleet escort/combatant to complement capital ships like the Executor. It may not look it, but it's a lot bigger and meaner than an Imperator.
Imperial Customs Corvette Winter 2008-Spring 2009 Current Status: Complete One of my favorite small ship designs in the EU. 180m.
XG1 StarWing Assault Gunboat Spring 2009 Current Status: Complete A classic design from the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series games. Always wanted to make one of these, and now I have! I've attempted to rationalize the low-poly game model and associated artwork with this. Turned out pretty well I think, even if I can't do interiors to save my life...
Imperial Star Carrier
Spring 2009-present Current Status: In progress!
Wrath, Assertor-class Star Dreadnought Spring 2009-Spring 2010 Current Status: Complete 15km Star Dreadnought idea that turned into a very large project. 30+ million polygons. Probably the largest ship I'll be doing for a long, long time. Still, didn't turn out too bad, I'd say.
TIE Defender Summer 2010 Current Status: Complete An old classic, reimagined.
Scimitar Assault Bomber Summer 2010 Current Status: Complete A newer design, done in a week. Probably the fastest high-detailed model I've ever done.
Imperial Vigil-class Heavy Star Corvette Winter 2009-Winter 2011 Current Status: Complete An original design for a heavy corvette for patrol, escort, and utility roles.
Secutor-class Star Destroyer Fall 2010 Current Status: Complete An interpretation of and old Dark Empire design, Anonymous Star Destroyer 3 in the SW Technical Commentaries catalogue. A fun design, reminiscent of a giant flying wing. The result is one of my favorite large ships.
TIE Avenger Winter 2010 Current Status: Complete Classic design, hamstrung originally by the engine limitations of the XW series games. I have re-imagined it, combining elements of my other advanced TIEs and drawing heavily on the CCG card game version. Quickly done, but I'm very pleased with the result. Lambda-class shuttle Spring 2011 Current Status: Complete I decided to re-do this model from scratch, using the old model as a scale reference. HAVw-a6 Juggernaut
Spring 2011 Current Status: Complete A modification on the original model in ROTS. Added more detail, refined a few bits I thought could use some work. Shorter suspension, bigger and modified dorsal gun, and changed the observation pod to an observation platform and sensor pod. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the result. Skipray Blastboat Summer-Winter 2011 Current status: Complete One of the most underrated EU designs that I've wanted to build since seeing it the first time in the first edition Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels..
