Amazing work as always, yet the Turbolaser placement puzzles me, having a Octuple Barbette mostly obscured by the massive Generators seems counter intuitive to me, I think the good people at Kuat would be sensible enough to move the Main Battery either further up in the Superstructure, or forward on the bow of the ship to allow the Ship a greater field of fire to it’s front in line with the wedge shape. The elevated structure beneath the bridge would present an ideal gun platform for a handfull of Turbolasers and offer them an all-around field of fire, with a… Read more »

I’m assuming that – like the Immobilizer – this thing would have its performance degraded by the use of its gravity well projectors, as they’re much more powerful (and thus draw more power). A version I’ve considered in the past is something in the Procursator size range, but fitted with Immobilizer-size gravity well projectors. My take is that such a ship would be able to provide equivalent interdiction support, but would have a much higher power budget, and would thus be able to stay mobile with the main body of the taskforce, as well as having enough firepower to better… Read more »

I love the addition of the triple MTLs on this! Though I do see the PD placements and that quad mount tucked in near the back but with the cut out of the super structure the way it is; how much more susceptible is the Interdictor to trench run disease? If I were a terrorist pilot… I mean rebel pilot, I’d just fly in the blind spots caused by the grav well projectors, cut in-between them, get behind the PD guns then fire off some proton torpedoes or concussion missiles once i’m in that cut out space of the super… Read more »

I always thought the interdictor was smaller than a standard ISD, but the eye test here (based on the octuple barbette) would seem to indicate they share a basic hull construction, minus the superstructure of course. How do they measure up to each other size wise?

Precisely the same.

The 418 one is 600m though

they’re two interdictor models, a smaller one and a ISD sized type in Legends.

The ISD type is actually back in cannon as well. There is one in Vader Immortal episode 1.

If anything, I think it could be argued that dimension-wise, the Interdictor is larger in terms of dimensions than the standard ISD, the gravity well generators on the ventral side increase the overall height of the ship and from the looks of it, the bridge tower is a bit more elevated than on the ISD, this last part however could just be an optical illusion..

The extra height was something I was under the impression of as well–both from images and source material–but Fractalsponge confirmed the size is the same in the WIP #1…

Now the question is, do gravity well generators have any impact on mass/tonnage??!?
