Could this hold fang fighters or even a kom’rk?

Reply to  Fractal-fan

The hangar aperture is about 40m long, so you might be able to squeeze a Mk-III Kom’rk in there (29.6m long, about 28m wide with wings horizontal) depending on the internal structure of the hangar. It would have to rotate its wings a bit to fit through the aperture, but if the hangar’s tall enough it would only be awkward and dangerous, not impossible.
With Fangs being 6m x 5.6m (approx), you could likely fit a whole squadron in there. More than one squadron, if the hangar’s internal geometry allows it.

What is the cost of the ship? The EF76 Nebulon-B costs 8,500,000 credidts, (says wookiepedia) so I assume that a Teroch costs about 8,000,000. And if the ship is 300-ish meters long, isn’t the blaster cannons insanely big?

I estimate that it would cost around 11 million credits, as it is almost 400m long, and has much more volume than the Nebulon-B.

Does anyone know what Teroch means? I assume it would be mandalorian but I’m not sure.

Absolutely stunning work! You have some of the boys over at the Star Wars Design Alliance drooling over your level of (and attention to) detail… There are even some people who want to deckplan this ship and the Nebulon B… I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually worked out the dimensions on this thing? I’m also wondering just how many decks she’d have.

From the description, she’s 399m long.
My calculations are limited by my screen size, but she’s about 134.5-135m tall with landing gear retracted (130.5-131m gear deployed) and 140m-ish wide.

How often is it expected to land? It looks as if it would tip over quite easily due to its top-heavy nature and narrow struts. Also, if it carries vehicles, how does it deploy them? Still, a very nice piece.

the hanger points down so the veicles can just drop and it has anti grav tech
so tipping isnt a issue

How many fighters do you think this could hold, and are the single barrelled, forward facing weapons turbo lasers, and the smaller quad barrel weapons laser blasters??

Revan

Single turrets are turbo lasers and so are the quad turrets, just of different power.

TheIcthala

Specifically the singles are heavy turbolasers, the quads are medium.
I reckon, given the size of the aperture and the overall ship, maybe one squadron of fangs and a couple of shuttles.

Seems like this outguns the Kontos in a slightly smaller package, and she has landing capability to boot. A side by side would be interesting. I suppose the Kontos would have more sensory/noncombat capability, perhaps less cramped quarters or simply more crew, in terms of tradeoffs. Would the Teroch give up anything in terms of armor/shields for her weapons-heavy loadout?

TheIcthala
TheIcthala

Reply to  Jonathan C

She probably doesn’t have to give up armour, though she might not have the power for shields commensurate with her size, given the power draw of those big guns. She also has no visible point defences, not that a few light turbolasers would actually draw much power.

How big is this ship? it looks relativly small but the windows of the bridge say otherwise, i dont know why it gives me the impression of being only a bit bigguer of a corvette even if you classified it as a cruiser, also the ship suffers from a almost total lack of weapons that can fire backwards to cover the ship exept for that one turret in the back that cant fire downwards because of the hull

Sephiroth0812
Sephiroth0812

Reply to  Matteo

It’s 399 m in length as stated in the description, so size-wise it is in the Nebulon B-class/Arquitens-class range.

This is a Mandalorian ship, Mandalorians do not need backwards firing weapons because they never retreat or drag out a battle. They either destroy their adversary with one frontal attack or by circling them while dishing out broadsides.

Indeed Neb b is 300m, Arquitens 325m which is the lower end range of this “type”. I didn’t want to place it somewhere in the ballpark of the Strike Cruiser (450m) or similar vessels but SW is notoriously inconsistent with this criteria anyways despite having an actual category system which uses length as a primary parameter.

I’ve just realised how predatory this looks from above, like some beautiful cross between a dragonfly and an artillery battery.
From below, the shape of the neck and head remind me of Serenity. Another reason to love the design.

“Can we even fit one of these in Hangar 7?”
“With the heavy tractor beam array installed and landing gear stowed, this ship would have 36 metres vertical clearance in the lowest sections of Hangar 7 where we might store it. I would recommend deploying landing gear before entering the hangar, as this gains approximately 4 metres vertical clearance.”
“That’s not much, and nowhere near as much as a Velox.”
“Velox is less powerful, and incapable of unassisted planetary landings.”
“Fair point. Okay, so it’ll fit. Next question: can we afford one?”
– Commodore Maren Ved (Mirialan) and General Tagani (reprogrammed Super Tactical Droid) of the Alliance to Restore the Republic’s WolfBat Squadron discussing the Teroch-Class at WolfBats Base (c.a. 3:2 ABY)

Beersatron

Would this be comparable to the Velox, which is the same length? This looks beefier, so more volume for generator(s)? You also mention that it has capacitors, which is why it has the lower-end HTL, whilst the Velox is MTL as main armament?

I do see some design similarities with the Kandosii-Battleship which helps selling that this vessel is indeed of Mandalorian origin.
Is it a total fanon design or has it an actual basis in extended (Legends)-canon just without any pictures like the Praetor I and the Procurator?

Very cool, are the single canons smaller than the HTLs on the Vindicator/Dreadnaught? I like seeing when you roll out new gun assets (like the over under turrets of the lightskipper – those are just laser canons not light turbos right?). Also love how the bottom bit splits for the landing legs.

Anyway I hope the commissioner will share their backstory detail for this.

That makes a lot of sense, for a Mandalorian ship. I can see this ship being used in packs in raids, just sweeping away targets on the first pass, leaving nothing but wreckage behind it.

Are the large turrets mounting a single turbolaser HTL mounts? If so, what output?

Ryadra777

I think is somewhere between 500 gigatons and 40 teratons and is possibly one of the Providence’s guns that are 1 teraton per shot

At first I thought that the fact that this ship has just the one battery pointing back was a design flaw, but then I remembered it’s supposed to be a Mandalorian design.

Of course the entire thing would be designed with the offense in mind and not a single thought to retreat.
