What is the yield for the guns on the bulbs?

They appear to be the same turrets that were used on the Inexpugnable-Class Command Ships. Those would 1+ petatons in the OT era, according to Fractal in a discussion on sd.net.

Fractalsponge,
How come you never add any descriptions to your designs either at the beginning or below each image so we can understand the design better instead of just looking at them and “oooing” and “ahhing” at them.

Tony, I agree with you. I do not like how the fractalsponge website is structured. He never gives descriptions to his designs, just Title. He doesn’T even specify if it is a Golan 1 2 or 3. Just Golan Battlestation.

Just look it up. This clearly resembles a Golan 3 more than Golan 1 or 2. This is about the same size as a Golan 3 anyway.

Having been a long time player of EoW:FoC and its respecting mods you never really grasp how BIG the Golan orbital defense platforms are, even the Golan I and II

Tbf, even though I like EaW, it pains me to say that its caling is a complete joke. I know it has to be that way bacause of gameplay, but no matter how you put it, its not a high bar to set.

Hey Eugene, if you ever fought against the Golan 3 in the new 4.0 Remake Mod, then you’ll know that they are though to fight against. Especially there torpedo tubes

Are all 3 of these large spheres reactors? Because that would give this insane power (in the range of 1-2E26 W range). That would make this more than 3 times as powerful as an Allegiance. If only the middle one is an actual reactor it’s roughly as powerful as an Allegiance which makes sense but does seem a little underpowered, given that this is a space station and the other has to worry about space for engines and whatnot.

I think those could be reactors, but above the spheres where turbolasers are attached sideways, are the golan’s shield generators.

Fantastic! I confess my doubt that a single person did all this. If so good job. If not good job to y’all.

Lol, it’s ok. 🙂 Fractal has been doing this for years. I’m about to start having a go at this stuff myself, and if after a few years I even get to within 70/80% of this level, I’d be satisfied. 🙂

This was the kind used by Thrawn in the sector defense for Bilbringi, right? I can’t remember if they had IIs or IIIs at Bilbringi.

Golan IIs if I remember. Fractal says this is more a Golan III, but he deliberately didn’t give it a series/type number. (See previous comments below)

Hey Fractal? Ever thought of doing a torpedo sphere?

Bailey Davidson

it looks badass in grey, maybe you should do a gunmetal version using some light filters for lore purposes since it predates the dunium grey of isd’s

I’m really glad he finished the Golan III ( maybe ) station. It must have taken at least most of this year ( I just discovered this place about a month ago.)

I’m guessing that this is the Golan I Fractal? Very nice work! Only ever saw these rendered for gaming mods before.

fantastic model! what is the armament count and type? I see a few huge turbo laser turrets and a secondary battery. looks very intimidating next to the ISD LOL.

Love it. I’ve always felt like the space stations were really under-represented in Star Wars (aside from the Death Stars obviously). Great work!

Is the death star really a space station, since it can move through real and hyperspace under its own power ?

would it be possible for you to make the Resurgent class Star Destroyer next? Its my favorite captial ship ever and one of the best things out of the sequels IMO.

That is not saying every much but the tie silencer the superlaser siege cannon and the supremacy are also really nice and I would love the fractal sponge version.

Darth Nick

I hope by “superlaser seige cannon” you’re not referring to that awful Pizza Hut-Class dreadnought?! 😛 The Resurgent-Class is, I agree, one of the best designs to come out of the Disney-era Star Wars, along with a few from Rogue One. Most of the rest are OK at best, totally naff at worst. 🙁 Xystron-Class anybody? 😀

The guns no the dreadnought and the super laser siege cannons. The Guns the dreadnought is orbital autocannons, not laser lasers or turbolasers. They function very differently compared to normal turbolasers or superlaser based weapon systems in the first place. They are never referred to as superlaser siege cannon in the lore and lack the build up of the ground based superlaser siege canon that first-order uses on the ground compared to the death stars for example. At least the supremacy was not an upscaled executor type for example and something new and interesting.

I doubt you’re gonna get much of a response mate. 1) Fractal doesn’t really work in that era 2) the resurgent is already a pretty detailed ship, so I don’t know what he could add to it, and 3) commissions aren’t free. If you’re gonna spend a month crafting something, it’s either that you’re very passionate, or that you’re being paid fairly for making it.

Not the renders tough plus the Supremacy is a new and interesting design plus most of those designs are legends only ones.

Plus The Sovergian Eclipse the Mandator would be cool plus the Resurgent class would be cool to see Plus the Mon Cal ship like the 75 80 85 90 95 Viscount would also be really nice to see on his website plus that would be more mon cal starships.

Ioan

The Supremacy is probably the only ship which is equivalent to an entire industrial planet like Kuat or Corellia.

How big the imperial ones are more than 50 meters wide and at least one-third of that in length. Does star wars suffer from? scale issues like how the POA pillar of autumn is not big enough for space of the 8 longsword class fighter in total and 4 pelicans per hanger with enough space.

Really awesome model. Then again all of your work usually is. I’ve been wondering for a while what the Golan Platforms would look like if given a little love.
