There’s gonna be a connecting keel section. It’s not just the floor of the hangar bay connecting things. But overall, yeah, pretty spindly all the same, and NOT meant to slug it out with anything. Stealthy, fast, and spam mines and missiles and run like hell kind of usage.
Kewl. Was hoping to see something a little more robust. Like a Star Wars version of the Tarawa Class amphibious assault ships the US Navy used. Troop ships, light armor vehicles and fighter or cover.
I was thinking smaller scale. Having Corps in the name of that one makes me think multiple divisions and all supporting equipment. I am thinking something that would carry a battalion of troops with smaller armor units like the occupier tanks, ITT troop transport and the means of ferrying them and troops to the surface. As well as a squadron of fighters for air cover.
Sounds a lot like the Kontos class frigate to me. It’s roughly equivalent to a Strike class medium cruiser, which could carry about a battalion of troops and support vehicles, depending on configuration.
The Kontos is more of a fleet ship, but I can see what you mean in terms of size and complement. I love the idea of an expeditionary assault ship that could a) quickly respond to threats that don’t require a full field army, and b) in larger operations, get in quickly to secure a foothold before the main invasion force arrives. Although I wonder if a regiment might be more appropriate, given the scale of the SW galaxy. This also reminds me of I’ve been dying to see: company and battalion dropships. Fractal mentioned them when he was working on the Chi, and I think it would greatly increase the Empire’s flexibility in deployment to have a range of dropships, light, medium, and heavy.
What shuttle is in the hanger?

Rendili StarDrive: Look at how thin and spindly we made the connection between the drive and main superstructure on the Nebulon B! =(・ω・)=

Is that going to be it’s carrying capacity? 6 fighters and 1 troop ship/shuttle?
Safe standard complement. Can always adjust for special missions.

So like a 1/8th scale Acclamator?
Sounds about right. Something that could deliver and support the Star Wars version of a Marine Expeditionary Unit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_expeditionary_unit
