Definitely not. Not capital-scale torpedoes, anyway. Those things are big enough they’re pretty visible on a Dreadnought at eight times the Carrack’s size. Each individual missile is like the size of a fighter at least.
You just can’t fit that into the Carrack. It’s too tightly-built. They couldn’t even fit a dinky microhangar into the Carrack, they hang the fighters outside on racks. I mean, I wouldn’t put it outside the realm of reason to have torpedoes hanging outside on racks instead of fighters, but that’d be a variant. And even then I’m wincing at the possibility of those things getting touched off while they’re hanging outside. I would rather anti-capital missiles detonate while contacting the enemy’s hull, not mine.
Fighter-scale torpedo launchers… well, you could fit them. Those things are barely visible on an X-Wing, they would be the size of a pixel on this. But probably not those either. I can’t imagine they hit harder than a turbolaser, and the Carrack has quite a number of turbolasers already – fighter-scale torpedoes are there to fit anti-ship firepower in a small package, the Carrack is a big enough package to just have the anti-ship firepower and fire it repeatedly rather than under strict ammo limits.

What’s with the odd placement of that gun turret in an asymmetrical position on the dorsal part of the aft section?

I would like to mention that most Imperial ships seem to use single-barrelled turbolasers, not double-barrelled ones.

Great stuff..Btw, what are those 2 turrets, with octagonal plates, at the lower part of the ship’s bow & on the sides at the rear? Are they radar or something else?
@Enterprise65 those would be external racking for small craft. Fractal has shown how those are modular and depending on needs could dock even upto dx-9 stormtrooper transports. Though it could also do just a squadron of tie/ln fighters.
I especially like how it looks next to the Lancer. Like they are both two different models from the same manufacturer.

I quickly counted the weapons and I’ve believe that this Carrack’s armament is:
2 quad medium turbolaser turrets
2 single medium turbolaser ball-turrets
12 twin light turbolaser turrets
14 quad point-defence cannons
One slight issue:
The paired weapons turrets aren’t twin light turbolaser turrets, though they do look similar to them. They are a single light turbolaser cannon mounted alongside a single heavy laser cannon. If I recall correctly the design is supposed to provide good anti-starfighter defence at long-medium to short-medium range. I might have made up the part about the ranges though, I can’t recall where I read that.
Fractal explained those turrets in a comment on his Crusader a few years ago. Link below. https://fractalsponge.net/?p=1538
Otherwise, you’re spot on with the armament as far as I can tell.
Ah yes, the often overlooked old reliable Carrack-class. A ship which if I recall correctly was already in use by the Old Republic Judicial Forces decades before Episode I and known for its focus on survivability as well as the ability to support different weapon layouts for its emplacements.
This version made by Fractal is much more realistic and fitting in with other Star Wars ship classes than most depictions made in official SW media.
The comparison shots especially with the Lancer-class Frigate make it seem like the Carrack belongs to the same design “family” or philosophy.
Considering this, I’d say the Dreadnaught-class also fits the same theme and unlike the Lancer it was also already used by the Judicial Forces.
I also quite like the unique engine blocks the ship possesses.

I feel like the design nod to the original ‘bridge’ could have been a bit more ballsy/overt, but overall love the proportions and that there’s a subtle touch of avian/hawkishness to the prow that really takes 90% the edge off the original design’s abject weinerness.
And forgive the impudence, I’ve not haunted Discord in a while, but the launch/recover works are interesting in that there’s only 3 ‘racks’ vs. 4? and the two gizmo arms at the aft end in front of the works… Are those for a shuttle or larger transports?

I love it! This is the ship I have been waiting for and Ansel has not disappointed. Amazing work, as always.

Love how this thing is basically the Lancer’s big brother. Awesome design!!

If all the Star Destroyers are just “murder triangles,” then the Dreadnought, Carrack, and Lancer are just “murder cigars.”

That’s one way to solve the massive bridge problem on the Carrack: basically eliminate the bridge altogether.

Looks amazing any chance we’ll get to see this in republic livery in the future?
It still looks like a dong. I’m sorry, but th4 thing is just ridiculous and should be purged from the canon
I like to think that the naval architects at Damorian Manufacturing were either secret Separatists…or just good old-fashioned trolls.

I thought they were tractor beams emplacements, or am I mistaken?
You guys are both correct in a way. The turrets in the front are tractor beams. The claws in the back are space craft racks.
This looks great.

Oh yes, looking closer at them now, I see that one barrel is bigger than the other, thank you!
You may have added a couple light mounts. I mark it as 13 quads, and 10 point defense.
Upon rechecking, I agree.
