Anything smaller than a Star Destroyer is a Corvette or Frigate depending on precise size and role.

No. There is absolutely zero correlation between a star destroyer of any type and a destroyer. Zero. The purpose of Imperial Star Destroyers are literally to be the biggest, toughest and most heavily armed vessel in the fleet. They’re meant to outgun and overmatch their enemies in terms of armor, but they’re not the fastest ship there. They are a battleship, pure and simple, similar to the IJN’s Yamato or the Tirpitz. I agree with you 100%. Though I personally think trying to equate ‘IRL’ wet navies to ‘URL’ space navies is both futile and pointless, each universe, be it SW, or others, have their own set of rules on ship classification/designation. SW, mind you, is one of the more confusing. ST has a much better classification system, imo, that was printed in the Starfleet Ships Of The Line books. The MC80 model is at a minimum of 3.9 kilometers long the legends Mc90 model could be a little bigger. Plus the cannon size of the Home is 1,300-1400 meters long and some mon cal warships of the MC80 line are up to 1.6 kilometers long so nearly 5 kilometers long MC80 is not out of line neither is a 3.6-kilometer long one. Heavy battlecruiser because they like the weapon numbers of a battleship but a certainty above a heavy cruiser grade warship. The executor would be a straight-up titan. a Bellator would a dreadnought and the mandator 4 would be a superdreadnought grade warship in normal naval placement.
I think regarding the phantom Mon Cal – “pics or it didn’t happen”. You don’t get to make up numbers. Despite the ridiculous official 1.2km length, Home One also is extremely well scaled because of the hangar. a ~3km length is very likely.
Guest
Resurgent Class Battlecruiser
In cannon, because no two starships are the same it’s 1,200-1,600 meters. So multiple that by 3 should gets us 3,600-,4800 meters. I think because it is the flagship and plus it likely the largest shuttles home one might be using. the 4.8-kilometer length seems more likely because the falcon alone is much larger than the shuttle used to get to the Endor. Assuming the scaling is off by 300 percent in all three ways length with and height.

I was thinking with my reality numbers of the giant white cruiser or battleship that seems much larger than home one. It about 1 hour 35 minutes and 28 seconds into the movie. Yes, I am pulling numbers based on the canonical sizes of the falcon and the tie interceptors, and assuming the part of the starship is the front given the massive budget it could be another home one type warship. That home size of 3,600-4,800 meters depending on whether you take the 1,200-1,600 meters size range multiplying that by 3 gives you 3,600-4,800 meters for home one less than half of the my earlier size. You need to improve the quality of your sources; Wookieepedia is more of a dumping ground for often-contradictory bits of information than it is anything authoritative. Try the Mon Cal Warships sub-section of the Star Wars Technical Commentaries:
I tried and could not get most of the images except for the home one and a few others. But I will try that again a lot of the starships do not have images on them for some reason. I agree that the Wookie has a lot of contending articles on it and is more than not a dumping ground.

That’s my point; the ships we do know about use multiple images with other objects in scale to arrive at a plausible size range. As near as I can tell from this string of posts, we only get a brief view of the tail end of the ship, with nothing nearby to provide a concrete scale to even make a size estimate of what we actually can see, never mind whatever the rest of the ship may look like. This looks like something that the Mon Cals would have been forced to produce before their insurrection against the Empire. Engine placement SCREAMS a Mon Cal shipyard design. Could you imagine the Mon Cals finishing the last of these that were in drydock after their insurrection and sending a few of these to be used by the Rebellion as escorts for larger capital ships or as hit-and-run tactics?

Hello:
This design surely looks well-suited for hit and run tactics, it reminds me a lot of the Northampton class starship from “Macross 7” and “Macross Frontier”, which is not a bad thing 🙂 .

Guest
Shaun
I think I recall that that was one of the talking points…
Even if not ‘officially,’ it’s definitely one in functionality/scale.
Wasn’t the strike cruiser modular as well?
Guest
CRMcNeill
It is, but the modularity was largely a matter of what it could carry, whether as a general purpose patrol ship, light carrier, troop transport, pre-fab garrison base deployer, etc. So if all that’s actually happening is that the cargo bay is being rapidly converted from one mission to another, then the ship itself doesn’t really have to be all that modular in general.
Guest
CRMcNeill
I”m strongly considering amalgamating the Strike-Class and the Kontos into a single ship, called the Kontos-Class Strike Cruiser. Seeing as how the modularity that the Strike is touted for mostly boils down to what it can fit in its cargo bay, it’s not a huge leap to picture a Strike Cruiser as a modular attack platform that can be rapidly reconfigured to carry a variety of troop or vehicle types, a light carrier, and so on and so forth. If the cargo bay is set up as a “plug and play” where different module blocks can simply be inserted and… Read more »
This ship was pretty explicitly designed to slot into the Strike role, just without quite the same extreme level of modularity the original was supposed to have.
Guest
CRMcNeill
That fits. As near as I can tell, the Strike’s modularity was more hype than any sort of practical application. It certainly never made it into official game stats.
Guest
Chris Bradshaw
Plenty of actual naval hardware was advertised as modular by the prime contractor, but once accepted into service, the operating navy discovered that the modularity was more hype than substance for cost or module implementation reasons, and then eventually just ran the hull with only one module. Could be the case here.
Guest
CRMcNeill
My theory is that the modularity was restricted to the cargo / carrying spaces, in that they could be rapidly swapped out for barracks / flight decks / vehicle parking / containerized mission modules, etc. The guts of the ship itself would be fixed and hardened.
Guest
Chris Bradshaw
Makes sense, cargo bays are easy compared to changing ship roles on the fly.
Some versions (admittedly fanon) of the Strike seem to have the entire ventral section be detachable – the curved panels basically just act as a shell. Containerized cargo space probably makes more sense though.
Guest
CRMcNeill
I went with a less extreme version of that, with the Strike having a detachable “main battery module” that could be swapped out, which mounted heavy (heavier, at least) turbolasers, ion cannon, missile launchers, additional anti-starfighter lasers, a sensor masking system, etc, depending on mission requirements. The modular cargo bays could then be paired with the various main battery modules to mix and match even further. The Missile Launcher module could be paired with Missile Magazines, anti-starfighter lasers with TIE Launch Bays, the Sensor Mask with additional sensor processing modules and stores for longer duration recon or scout missions, etc.
What would be the armament on this thing? I really like it and I’d like to know if anyone has figured that out yet.
It has by my count…
9XQuad Medium TL
2XDual Medium TL (On fantail Aft)
12XDual Light TL
2X12 Warhead Launcher Tubes
This is a really cool ship, I’m guessing It’s susposed to be around 250 meters?

Heavy battlecruiser because they like the weapon numbers of a battleship but a certainty above a heavy cruiser grade warship. The executor would be a straight-up titan. a Bellator would a dreadnought and the mandator 4 would be a superdreadnought grade warship in normal naval placement.
I think regarding the phantom Mon Cal – “pics or it didn’t happen”. You don’t get to make up numbers. Despite the ridiculous official 1.2km length, Home One also is extremely well scaled because of the hangar. a ~3km length is very likely.
And the Falcon with multiple tie interceptors can be seen barely seen. But a massive mon cal capital ship in a whiteish grey color scheme can be seen. Head appears to be hundreds of meters long and many dozens of meters in width. We never see a full-scale or pics of the starship but it’s really far larger than an imperial class. Then the Raddus should be… Read more »
“seems”. “appears to be”. “never see full-scale or pics of the hull”. So you admit you’re pulling numbers out of your ass. I’ve run into one or two people on this page who try to pass off clearly ludicrous assertions by inserting them into a tidal wave of word vomit, but you really do take the cake. Now, again, pics or it didn’t happen.
I thought upscaling the Raddus a different ship you also missed in that message should be around 10.8-14.4 kilometers if we are upscaling the Raddus. Watch… Read more »
I give you the time stop and other than that we never see in that movie an entire mon cal warship up close. Other than the death star blowing one up. Can you provide me evidence that warship does not exist?. Read the comment I give a description of the warship plus a time stamp. We never see the entire warship or pics of it before or after the battle it is only in a few seconds almost right after we see the tie swarm the executor. Thier are multiple tie interceptors chasing the falcon when a giant bulbous mon… Read more »
I dont think you’ve said anything offensive, not at all. Just me and CRM are trying to work out how you are justifying your figures? A lot of Sci-Fi universes get their ‘Canon’ figures wrong, look what happened with the Executor and also the original Battlestar Galactica, that was stated to be just over 600m long, which would make it shorter than the Enterprise D! Now there are conflicted scaling sizes for the Galactica too, the one posted on the Battlestar wiki is just over 1200m, so around the size of a Ventator, upper limit puts it at just over… Read more »
That is a very reasonable and mature answer and I have not to help a whole lot in that regrade so yeah I can take that criticism
It looks like a stocky warship almost based on the concept art of the movie Gigantic bludges on multiple visible parts. We never see that starship again Pluspics or it did not happen is bullshit we do not see a lot of the battle or pics or the rest of the battle did not happen.
It looks like the MC 95 and MC 85 had a child or at multiple multiple versions of the MV 95 had a child. I give you two-time stamps in two comments plus a brief description of the warship plus the before events. I can not show you pics because I have no idea what the fuck the name of the starship even is. Or the model number or that it even looks like because we see it for like 5 seconds in one movie and me saying that got you pissed off for zero reasons. That is not an… Read more »
Who’s pissed off? I pointed out that you’re spamming the comments about a ship you can’t prove exists (“I cannot get a description of what it even looks like part of the little that we see for like 5 seconds”) and can’t provide even the slimmest proof that it is the size you say it is. You immediately turned around and proved my point by spamming more made up BS and word vomit. Now, if you want there to be a ludicrously oversized Mon Cal Dreadnought at the Battle of Endor, that is certainly your prerogative in your own personal… Read more »
Two comments are awaiting moderation approval to provide images of different mon cal warships because I do now know what the fuck starships name. It happens at one hour 35 minutes and 28 seconds in its white with bulges that seem to longer than the screen and appears for like 5 seconds is never given a name hence why I can not look it up because I do not know how to prove it without it having an official name just watch the movie. The dreadnought type figure was for the Radius size increase if you thought it needed them… Read more »
You need to improve the quality of your sources; Wookieepedia is more of a dumping ground for often-contradictory bits of information than it is anything authoritative. Try the Mon Cal Warships sub-section of the Star Wars Technical Commentaries:
http://www.theforce.net/swtc/mcc.html
I tried and could not get most of the images except for the home one and a few others. But I will try that again a lot of the starships do not have images on them for some reason. I agree that the Wookie has a lot of contending articles on it and is more than not a dumping ground.
You are also right I cannon prove its size because we only see it next to the falcon and the tie interceptors and not true capital ship in that case more of the starship would have been visible I could make a far more precise description based on that.
Simply seeing the Falcon and some TIE fighters in the same frame isn’t enough to generate anything but the most general… Read more »
That is not wrong but we can guess the 17-kilometer viscount makes zero sense assuming that the Eclipse class and the viscount are meant to be slimmer in size. Well then I missed your point by a fucking omniverse really I did not get your point at all.
This debate makes me want to watch the Battle of Endor sequence all over again. Lol 😀 I agree with Fractal, Home One is around twice the length of an ISD.
In an hour 35 minutes and 28 seconds is a massive mon cal warship that looks like it based on concept art for the movie its white has multiple bulges and the falcon and the tie interceptors can barely be seen adjusting a truly massive warship. It almost right after the tie swarm and when we see the executor head-on. It is never seen again in the movie and only a small portion of it is never seen. I do not know if it is the front or the back.
You’re basing the length purely off conjecture.
Yes I am doing just that is thier anything wrong with that
There is if you expect us to take your numbers seriously. Making up numbers that “feel” right is fine if you’re making up a stat for an RPG or something, but that’s a long ways from being able to say “this ship is x meters long and I can prove it.”
well, it is fine for an RPG because normally they are not cannon.
This isn’t an RPG page.
Clearly, I missed that point by an omniverse as well.
@Fractal I did see your post on discord regarding being “swamped with work” atm, but just wanted to know if you received my email?
Many thanks. 🙂
No! I would re-send it 🙂
Ok, will do. 🙂
Ok, I’ve sent it again. The first one I sent on the 8th.
This is excellent work. If you don’t mind me asking, what software do you use to make these ships?
Wow, that is amazing work. Well done man
This looks like something that the Mon Cals would have been forced to produce before their insurrection against the Empire.
FractalSponge, would it be fine if I can make low-polygon starships inspired by your designs for a game-mod inspired by my own headcanon? It will be for “Star Trek: Armada 2 – Fleet Operations” and I can provide a link back here.
Very nice change to the bridge. Looks more purposeful and menacing. Thank you for posting all these online, along with all the others.
My absolute favorite.
I wasn’t around for the WIPs on this one. Is this your version of the Strike Cruiser, or a different ship altogether?
I think I recall that that was one of the talking points…
Even if not ‘officially,’ it’s definitely one in functionality/scale.
Wasn’t the strike cruiser modular as well?
It is, but the modularity was largely a matter of what it could carry, whether as a general purpose patrol ship, light carrier, troop transport, pre-fab garrison base deployer, etc. So if all that’s actually happening is that the cargo bay is being rapidly converted from one mission to another, then the ship itself doesn’t really have to be all that modular in general.
That fits. As near as I can tell, the Strike’s modularity was more hype than any sort of practical application. It certainly never made it into official game stats.
Plenty of actual naval hardware was advertised as modular by the prime contractor, but once accepted into service, the operating navy discovered that the modularity was more hype than substance for cost or module implementation reasons, and then eventually just ran the hull with only one module. Could be the case here.
My theory is that the modularity was restricted to the cargo / carrying spaces, in that they could be rapidly swapped out for barracks / flight decks / vehicle parking / containerized mission modules, etc. The guts of the ship itself would be fixed and hardened.
Makes sense, cargo bays are easy compared to changing ship roles on the fly.
Some versions (admittedly fanon) of the Strike seem to have the entire ventral section be detachable – the curved panels basically just act as a shell. Containerized cargo space probably makes more sense though.
How big it is and what was this ship use for
546 meters long and it is a general purpose escort ship.
Love the task force shots!
Do I detect a new bridge face?
