I can picture the manned version as the early prototype, and then Kuat said “what if we made it a droid?” as sort of a way to cheapen the cost of building them. If there be no need to put atmosphere stuff on it, don’t build it that way kind of thing.
I love the idea of manned and unmanned versions of the ship. Is there a lore reason as to why they have different dorsal rectennas?
