I’m an hobbyist scale modeler, I’m building a 1:4000th plastic model of the Chimaera from scratch as a personal project, and these shots are incredibly useful!

Is there any chance to have this page update with a couple of photos from above?

while it may not be exactly accurate (as the chimaera was a modified ISD), you can find shots from above on the Imperator page

I was inclined to take the Devastator as a reference, as it is the only actual ISD-1 on this website. Fun fact: the Chimaera files are named “anh9” to “anh13”, the Devastator WIP files are named “anh1” to “anh8”. Apart from the modified 8-guns side turrets, is there anything else I might be aware of? It looks like all the other Chimaera modifications I have come across while researching on the subject can directly be seen in the pictures from this page…

Great Work! The ISD I looks even more sexy. When you’re done, it’d look good posed with the other ships in Thrawn’s arsenal you’ve made. Namely say the dreadnaught, carrack, Lancer, Victory or interdictor.

But this and your torpedoe sphere got me thinking, would you consider making the Strike class or CR92a Assassin? Both were used by Thrawn as well. You haven’t made many 150m type corvettes. Also, a Crimson command Victory repaint would be pretty amazing to see. Just ideas, nothing more. Either way, great job on all these models.

The Kontos is Fractal’s version of the strike cruiser.

Oh ok thanks for clarifying. Never looked at the early post description on that ship. Didn’t realize it was supposed to be a strike class, thought it was an imperial Chiss ship or something like that lol

You should do a Hapes Nova Battle Cruiser. It’s my favorite!

I think i prefer the paint to be darker, like in the last image…

Makes it feel like a monster is casting a shadow on the Star Destroyer

No way. That whole shifting, variable, ChromaLusion(tm)-like, is it there, is it not, look is 100% Thrawn.

“You can know a lot about people from their art. Take these two interlocutors, each with different views upon the decals of my ship. A difference of mere shades and yet their own interpretations are as vast as the galaxy.”

“The former prefers the darker shade upon the Chimaera, thus revealing a more direct approach to strategies. This betrays a certain preference for a show of force, to intimidate their adversaries or to overwhelm them psychologically to achieve victory. Such tactics can yield results against lesser opponents but they are rigid and unable to handle the more nuanced side of warfare. Either blinded by arrogance or ignorance, they are vulnerable to subterfuge and being outplayed by a more devious opponent.”

“The later prefers a more subtle and precise approach. Quite admirably, they do not rely on brute force but rather on tactics that yield efficient results. Shifting and unpredictable, they can be formidable foes. And yet, the cost to paint a decal that is itself barely noticeable betrays a certain bravado… they seek to honor themselves without drawing much attention, preferring to stay, in the shadows.”

Looks great. I’m guessing that when the regular ISD-I is finished, we’ll get some more Chimera shots that include the dorsal side? The Fantasy Flight Games model, at least, has the same painted monster visible on the dorsal side that is present on the ventral side.

Yes, I can hear the organ now, backed up by the trumpets and choir. Fantastically done.
