This captures the design aesthetic from the Phantom Menace so well. Even the lighting on the turrets looks good.

Love Turrets. If at all possible, if there was a ship that could really use some love, the WG-4210 could use an awesomeness poured out upon it.

Going by Incredible Cross-Sections, the big quads are the standard armament of a TPM-era Lucrehulk (42 of them – 18 Port side, 18 starboard side, and 6 on the top, facing forward. It would be interesting to know how powerful the big quads are though – Venator-strength 70 teratons? Allegiance-strength 175 teratons? Assertor-strength 240 teratons? They look bigger than the Carrack’s guns and maybe even bigger than the Imperial II’s guns.

I would guess that the huge cannons are for Clone Wars-era Lucrehulks and are similar in power and firing rate to the huge monitor guns or to the Allegiance’s dorsal guns.

Making them Venator strength (70 TT), would make the ship the equivalent of 10.5 Venators. Reasonably consistent with the idea that a flotilla of Venators (3-12 ships) could bring down its shields reasonably quickly (at the 12 ship number for a flotilla).

IMHO, the most reasonable hypothesis is that these turrets are just a twin version of Munificent’s main gun

The Munificent’s main gun is extremely aberrant – instead of being a standard 1 shot per second gun, it charges up, being able to blast-melt a 1000 km diameter ice moon – but that would take something like 4 hours of charge from the reactor.

On “normal mode” however, without relying on charging and capacitors, it takes 18 Munificents to outgun 1 Venator because it takes 18 Munificent reactors to exceed 1 Venator reactor (Munificent peak power is 2.07 × 10^23 Watts or 2,300 tons of fuel per second, Venator’s is 3.6 × 10^24 Watts or 40,000 tons of fuel per second)

Apparently using Stardestroyer.net figure for the moon melt (66.2 petatons) the recharge time needs to be more like 22 and a bit minutes, assuming perfect efficiency.

The per second figure for reactor energy generation is still going to be very low for the Munificent – 1 watt is 1 joule per second, so it generates 2.07 x 10^23 joules, which corresponds to around 49.5 teratons – or around 24.75 teratons per barrel. If other guns are expected to be fired as well when the ship is delivering a full barrage, then the per barrel per second rate for the two main guns could be as low as 20 teratons.

Perhaps, like I’ve speculated for the Vindicator, “standard fire” per barrel is 40 teratons, but 1 shot every 2 seconds. That would make the Munificent’s gun a Clone Wars-era version of the Vindicator’s gun (ignoring special circumstances like capacitor charging).

I get the point, but isn’t the issue with the ship rather than with the weapon then? I would assume Luchrehulk has somewhat more significant power generation facilities than a Munificent considering its size. Plus they tend to not move in combat that much, so i would assume they spend much less power on propulsion/inertial dampening than something like a heavy frigate and get some surplus from that.

Maximum power of turbolaser is tied to maximum power of reactor and based on assumptions that the reactor is not being used to do anything else – nothing being fed to the engines or the shields.

As it is, some ships have more power to the guns than the reactor can generate. The Venator, for example. 3.6 x10^24 watts, 3.6 x10^24 joules per second, 860.4 teratons per second. But firing all 16 barrels at 70 teraton shots 1 shot per second means 1120 teratons are being fired, which would require a reactor capable of generating 4.69 x10^24 watts (assuming perfect efficiency in converting reactor power to turbolaser shot yield).

In other words, the Venator needs capacitors to fire all its guns at full strength, and will drain those capacitors over time. Or, the captain must choose not to fire every gun at once.

The Acclamator, using 200 gigaton shots, 5 shot per second firing rate, throws 48 teratons per second, which is 2.008 x10^23 watts – almost exactly right for the listed strength of the ship’s reactor which is 2 x 10^23 watts. So the 5 shot per second firing rate estimate is fairly realistic.

If a “flotilla” means only 3 ships rather than 12, one could give the Lucrehulk 20 teraton per second guns (40 teraton, firing once every two seconds) and so it would have exactly the maximum firepower of 3 Venators (main guns).

So “40 teraton 1 shot per 2 seconds” and “70 teraton 1 shot per second” are both plausible strengths for the Lucrehulk’s main battery, but anything significantly more than that or less than that would contradict the statement that it’s equivalent to a flotilla of Venators.

i think maybe were all overthinking it; if we are referring to the pre-war version of the lucrehulk, then those turrets are likely a lot less powerful than they look due to civilian restrictions. The smaller turrets actually look like they are able to conceal inside the hull and then come out when needed, unlike the quads. the smaller turrets tho could actually be powerful cuz they are illegal and hidden.

6) 100-500 gigaton standard MTL models. Anti-frigate gun. The 200-gigaton Acclamator quad falls in this range. Standard frigate main guns. Category blurs into the 1-teraton light HTL of the Providence. 

Did Fractal later retcon them to be bigger?

The Providence gun shots are also supposed to be “magnitude 10 earthquake” level, for which estimates vary enormously – it could be as much as 1 teraton, yes, but it could also be as little as 15 gigaton.

4x 1 teraton guns firing 5 shots per second makes for a 20 teraton per second delivery rate for the turret as a whole – which is within my range estimate for “equal to a flotilla” of Venators – where flotilla means 3 ships.

Retractable weapons makes sense for a Lucrehulk which would have been limited by the Ruusan Reformations.
