Hello! Can you give as ship size chart for all your ships?

One night many months ago I dreamed of a ship similar to this one, only in my dream it was a Lego

Reminds me of the non-canon ‘Titan-Class’ battlecruiser that pops up in a few mods for Star Wars Empire at War.

I apologize in advance for various errors in the text of the message – English is not my native language and I know it mediocre. I have to use a translator. Punctuation in the text is relevant for my language.

Personally, in my vision of the situation, Urbanus is a new iteration of the Allegiance class battlecruiser. I don’t know exactly Mk2 or Mk3, but the kinship of the projects of these ships is obvious to me. At least the composition of the main armament and the identical propulsion group says this. At the same time, it is clear that the doctrine under which the ship was built has undergone a large number of changes and edits – at least Urbanus, unlike Allegiance, was built according to a doctrine similar to the Imperator. That is, the ship turned out to be universal – it has both powerful artillery and spacious hangars, and, probably, it carries significant troops.

It seems to me that, in comparison with Allegiance, Urbanus should have become more widespread in the fleet of the First Galactic Empire. These ships would be relatively easy to fit into the current doctrine of the Empire’s space battles, and they would not need to strengthen the escort due to the lack of their own air wing.

In the navy, they could be the flagships of large formations of those sectors of imperial space where ISDs were not uncommon. Yes, it’s not an SSD, but ships of this class could be built by the hundreds, unlike the same SSDs.

Armaments(Yes, I looked at the picture for half an hour to calculate the armament):
45×2 PD turrets along the sides of the case + 78х2 PD turrets on the upper superstructure
17×4 Medium Turbolasers 200GT
12×3 Heavy Turbolasers 175TT in turrets + 2×4 HT 175TT in spheres
4×2 Heavy Ion Cannon 175TT in turrets + 6×3 HIC 175TT
336(28×12) Anti-Ship Missile Launchers
3 Tractor Beam Projectors (Maybe I’m blind and didn’t find it, but there are too few of them for a ship of this size)

So. I lost the initial thought with which I sat down to write a message, so I’ll finish here before I go too far from the topic.

For anyone curious this is the weaponry that I could find for the ship

Heavy Triple Turbolaser Turrets 12

Medium Quad Turbolaser Turrets 16-20

Light Twin Turbolaser Turrets 154-157

Triple Ultra Heavy Ion Cannons 6

Ultra Heavy Quad Turbolaser Cannons 2

Heavy Dual Ion Cannons 4
( the 4 weapons on the spine I’m not really sure what kind of weapons they are so I’m guessing they are ion weapons )

Concussion Missile Launchers 336

Judging by those giant hangar bays and its relative lack of weapon emplacements, I would definitely say that the Urbanus is the carrier counterpart to the Allegiance. It does make me wonder though, where all the extra reactor output goes, given that its bulge looks to be the same size as the Allegiance, but with a fraction of the firepower.

Yes, the Urbanus seems severely underpowered compared to other carriers like the Secutor, it feels like it can fit another 12 of those triple HTLs no problem, while still maintaining its carrier role

Well from what I could see this is it’s armament.

Heavy Triple Turbolaser Turrets 12

Medium Quad Turbolaser Turrets 16-20

Light Twin Turbolaser Turrets 154-157

Triple Ultra Heavy Ion Cannons 6

Ultra Heavy Quad Turbolaser Cannons 2

Heavy Dual Ion Cannons 4
( the 4 weapons on the spine I’m not really sure what kind of weapons they are )

Concussion Missile Launchers 336

So to me anyway it still seems fairly decently armed with a nice mix of turbolasers, ion cannons and missiles.

Yeah, I appreciate that it has a good armament (thanks for those, your numbers are a lot more accurate than mine), but the Urbanus seems to only beat Fractal’s ISD by a marginal amount, let alone having firepower more than half of that of the Allegiance.

I’m not saying that the Urbanus should have more firepower, I’m just confused why a ship with the same reactor size as an Allegiance has nowhere near the same amount of weaponry. Does the extra power go into the shields instead?

Well there’s a few things that huge reactor can do.

1# All that extra juice from the reactor could be going to it’s engines and shields. Meaning it’ll have extremely robust shielding and powerful engines.

Or

2# Because it has fewer weapons all that extra juice is going into the few weapon emplacements it has are going to make those fewer weapons fire faster and hit harder then normal because that reactor has extra power to pump into it’s fewer weapon systems.

Or

3# It could be a mix of the first two it having faster firing weapons that hit harder then they should normally and it having more robust shields and more powerful engines then normal.

Honestly I’d argue that it’s probably better then the allegiance in a lot of ways.

1 – It has enough firepower to deal with threats at least as powerful as a ISD which is already more powerful then the vast majority of the ships that you’ll encounter outside of the empire.

2 – It has massive hangers so it undoubtedly has a large fighter and bomber compliment probably in the hundreds at least.

3 – It’s most likely going to have fast engines and powerful shields.

4 – It’s going to be a massive pain to fight against more so then an allegiance.

A pretty big fraction. Using just the main batteries of the Allegiance and the Urbanus, and discarding all the light 200 GT or less guns, the Allegiance has a total “throw weight” (energy delivered by all the guns firing one shot at maximum power, simultaneously) of 14.06 PT (9.8 PT of turbolaser energy from its 56 175 TT barrels, 2.16 PT of turbolaser energy from its 3 720 TT barrels, 2.1 PT of ion energy from its 12 175 TT barrels), and the Urbanus has a total “throw weight” of 12.25 PT (7.7 PT of turbolaser energy from its 44 175 TT barrels, 4.55 PT of ion energy from its 26 175 TT barrels).

The Urbanus’s total throw weight is 87% of the Allegiance’s.

Only quibble is that the greebling elements surrounding the central drive cone seem out of scale with the rest of the ship, but that’s my only complaint—she’s otherwise another fantastic addition to the collection of obscure comic background ships you’ve got going.

Those dorsal ion cannons look huge, are they just heavy ion cannons or are they super/ultraheavy, whatever you want to call those types of weapon?

For anybody left wondering at the class name of “Urbanus”, it means several things in Latin. First, literally meaning belonging or devoted to cities, and also secondly cultivated / sophisticated / refined, thirdly bold / forward (both of which are referring to “of manners or style” and finally elegant / refined, all of which could be argued to be attributed to this wonderful vessel (my new favourite Fractal ship).

So, is this like an Allegiance’s powerplant with a worse power-to-weight hull due to requirements of being a carrier and a troop transport?

Although I can only estimate the length to be ~3.2km long, for the armament, I have counted 12 triple heavy turbolasers, 2 quad ball turret turbolasers, 12 quad medium turbolasers, 4 twin heavy ion cannons, 6 ball turret triple ion cannons and 28 12x concussion missile tubes. I counted 52 twin point-defence cannons but I could’ve easily missed several.

Oh, I immediately thought of the Dark Empire series when I saw her profile. I love seeing an old comic design fully fleshed out.

This is so artistically done! Like a baby Bellator…

Absolutely love it, especially it’s side profile. It always bothered me how high and exposed the bridge of the Star Destroyers were.
