I love this ship, I was afraid that I would never see it completed by Fractalsponge (who in my opinion is absolutely the right person to fill certain design absences in the Legends continuity).
I know I’m late to say all this, but I haven’t been able to stay updated in the last few months, so I thank you now for this wonder for my eyes.
I find it unlikely, but I hope someone finds a way to make this design official in the EU.

My 2nd most favorite ship aside from the Assertor, if only the Galactic Empire should have built more of this type of practical ships that has actual weapons emplacements all over the Ventra and Dorsal Hull of its wide designed then i guess The Rebellion should have stand no chance at all rather than making and overpriced, impractical Mobile Stations like the Death Star 1 & 2.

What’s the stats? Looks like a slightly diminutive asserter. Trying to figure out the functional differences between the two.

The Assertor has almost 3x more firepower and should be used to battle other ships, while the Mandator 1 and 2 were used to defend planets so I think that would be a good role for the Mandator 3 because of its poor defenses in the rear

Resurgent Class Battlecruiser
Reply to  Fractal-fan

the Assertor could take on 2 Excutor 2 Class Star Dreadnoughts and Win with at least a chance of taking on 2 more forewords and aft with that amount of firepower. She is at least 2 times an Excutor 2 in Mass and Weight maybe more with that powerful axial superlaser that could kill smaller and weaker warships.

The Assertor is not as powerful as you say. I don’t think the Assertor could take on more than 2 Executors and still win. It might be able to take on 2, but 3 seems like it would not survive. This is not counting the superlaser which could heavily damage an Executor, if not destroy one.

Resurgent Class Battlecruiser
Reply to  Fractal-fan

I did not mean to say at a time but maybe soon after each other and it should be it is a lot longer bigger thicker taller and bulker with an enormous reactor complex powering it. I think the super laser harms it, which means less power to its weapons and likely fewer weapons overall. and she is slower and has less maneuverability and agility I am making a more version. with more powerful and more numerous weapon systems with more varied weapon systems a better overall design.

Resurgent Class Battlecruiser

She is unarmed and armored and likely under-shielded because that giant super laser takes up space. she also needs a better design with fewer exposed weak points. with a double superstructure design with an integrated nacelle system like the Bellator but still keeping the rest of the rear design and lowering the command centers with more bulk and height but even thicker and more firepower.

I read that the mandator III was meant to be an offensive version of the old mandators

By the way, could anyone tell me what that third dreadnaught in the shot with the Mandator and Bellator is. I’ve been trying to find it all over Fractal’s site and can’t seem to locate it.

I know Disney has a habit of canonizing Fractal’s work but I kinda hope they never do it for the Mandator III…
Because it would mean that this gorgeous ship would eventually be devolved into that abomination we saw in Last Jedi….

I agree, the mandator 4 is an abysmal end to the line. How do you go from a near perfect design in the resurgent class to such an abysmal failure?

Impressive ship! I could remember one of them, the Panthac going down after an intense broadside battle with the Executor-class Whelm. That would be a sight to behold.

Excuse me, but what armament and complement does this void leviathan have? Need this information very much…

TheIcthala

Best I can tell, it has:
108 quad ‘you call those heavy turbolasers’
153 twin ‘these are heavy turbolasers’
52 twin capital ship heavy ion cannons

I couldn’t zoom in far enough to figure out how many quad medium turbolasers or PD turrets there are, but I’m guessing: all of them

where are the quad turbolasers

If you look closely at the main batteries – the ones with 4 trios of turbolaser turrets – the turrets in the lower and upper trios are quad turbolasers. The turbolaser turrets at the backs of the ion cannon batteries are also quads, as are most of the turrets on the terraces – although not the ones on the centre line, those are all twins.

I think the best shot to tell this from is this one:

I did miss 12 multi-barrel ball turrets in the trench (can’t tell whether they’re ion or TL at my best zoom on this device), and what looks to be 96 heavy ordnance tubes.

Do the tactical missiles include the larger tubes? If I saw this correctly the WIP #2 shows all 336 of those tubes, but they are smaller and don’t include the larger launchers.

@Some Random Spacemarine… judging by your screenname and what I’ve been listening to on youtube, IT CANNOT BE COINCIDENCE THAT WE’RE HERE… I’m going to assume we have mutual business with AFanWithTooMuchTime and his 40k vs Star Wars crossover. Tell me I’m not wrong, LOL. And If I am wrong, Well… I can vouch that it is a EXTREMELY fair fight of a crossover.

Nick

@Some Random Spacemarine

Check out YouTube, AFanWithTooMuchTime is a guy who took a drop in the bucket that is the Imperium of Man, this “drop” is a sector-fleet, a couple of forge worlds, entire Imperial Guard world regiments, a small chunk of the Imperial Navy, a few Rogue Trader fleets, several entire Space Marine chapters, all of these elements are evacuating as a Tyranid hive-fleet bears down on it and to escape, it flings itself through the Circatrix Maledictum. There flung through time and space the small sector fleet ends up in the Star Wars Galaxy a week before Revenge of the Sith occurs. Fan pulls from both Canon and the Expanded Universe marrying certain aspects for a good story, GREATLY bolsters the numbers of the Republic war machine, and makes Palpatine both Expanded Universe and (groan) “All of the Sith” with a nasty parasitic edge explained in one of his recent aftertalks explaining his reasoning. He is a VERY fair author for both universes in this fantastic crossover as far as I can tell. The war for the dockyard planet Axum is drawing to a close. Palpatine himself is coming down to the war to engage a very powerful rogue Imperial Inquisitor who has meddled for the last time in Palpatine’s grand plans. I’ve been following this since February and I’ve binged over all 42 chapters. It’s one of the few things that greatly captures my interest and it’s a good listen. He’s been writing this for a very long time and plans to go into the sequel trilogy COMPLETELY REWRITING AND OVERHAULING IT with the good s*** from the Expanded Universe. I heavily recommend it, brother!

If there is some sort of famous techno art museum, Ansel’s artwork should definitely be included there. These renderings are mind blowing & should be shown in the big budget movies.
This ship looks like the brutal Assertor’s younger sibling at 12 kms in length. The rear of the ship seems lacking in enough anti-fighter guns though. From what I read, this ship has the firepower to destroy the bigger 19 km Executor. Shows what the Assertor can do.. Btw., what are those angled down rib like equipment in sets of 4 & 5 along the edges of the forward sections of the ships? Are they part of some shield or radiator hatch system? Also, does the Mandator3 have a super laser like the Assertor?
