Fractal said the turret would be able to be attached onto ships in response to the “will this be a planetary defence weapon” question in WIP#1.
I figure that this ship while somewhat slow in sublight (seen from behind it looks somewhat less “engine-heavy” than Star Destroyer type ships) will still be capable of going places in hyperspace.
Certainly less than twice the length of the 350m Carrack, going by those turrets (comparing the underbelly view to an underbelly view of the Carrack, and taking into account that those ventral turrets are the same type as the Carrack’s). So well under 700m. A lot more than 400m though. 600m perhaps?
Well, it looks like this is based on the Pursuit-class cruiser hull, which would put it at about 500m in length.

Maneuvering jets? I feel like it needs a bank of maneuvering jets on either side in those winglets to facilitate quick and effective positioning… Maybe something on the scale of the Nebulon/ICC/Storm Commando engine assets.
Monitor ships aren’t known for speed and maneuverability, just slowly rolling up to a target in a low-threat environment and spamming the “Fire” button and having a really big gun.
Looks like someone decided to make a few… adjustments… to the Pursuit-class.
All I can think is of a Imperial Munificent, a small ship with a huge cannon intended as a capacitor ship.
i agree with Darth plaugus the wise
yeah
One ship I’d like see “Aggressor class Star Destroyer”
Vehicles from EMPIRE/At War.
As a Monitor, is this ship not equipped with a hyperdrive?
Well Fractal said it will be able to attach onto other ships so perhaps not

ohhhhhhh
Definitely hyper-capable. Monitors have never been fast or high endurance but are generally quite able to go on long trips if needed.
Out of curiosity would this sort of Monitor be a common Fractal Imperial Navy vessel or only deployed in support of a planet hosting shipyards?
Imagine having one of these at the rear of a fleet sniping enemy ships or bombarding cities.
Beauty in destruction
Hrmm 400m?

Looks like no bow hangar after all.
Interesting that the 200 gigaton quad turrets are Carrack/Arquitens style, rather than the style that’s appeared on most other big ships.
